Rams Tackle Alaric Jackson Receives Pre-Filing Diversion Opportunity
Los Angeles Rams left tackle Alaric Jackson has been placed into a pre-filing diversion program, giving him an opportunity to avoid criminal prosecution following his arrest on suspicion of domestic violence earlier this summer.
Officials confirmed that prosecutors have chosen an alternative legal process instead of filing charges immediately. Under the diversion program, Jackson’s case remains active and could still be reviewed if additional evidence or developments emerge.
Legal Case Remains Open
Jackson was arrested on June 9 after police responded to an incident at his residence in the West Hills area of Los Angeles.
According to investigators, officers were called after a reported dispute involving a woman. Authorities alleged that Jackson attempted to take her phone after believing he was being recorded. The woman reportedly suffered minor scratches during the incident.
Although criminal charges have not been filed at this stage, the legal matter has not been closed. Prosecutors retain the option to revisit the case if new information becomes available.
Rams Continue Monitoring the Situation
The Rams organization previously acknowledged the incident, stating that it takes such matters seriously while declining to comment further because of the ongoing legal process.
Jackson has become an important part of Los Angeles’ offensive line over the past three seasons, making 45 regular-season starts along with six playoff starts. In 2025, he signed a three-year contract worth approximately $57 million after establishing himself as the team’s starting left tackle.
NFL Discipline Still Possible
While Jackson may avoid criminal charges through the diversion program, he could still face disciplinary action from the NFL under the league’s Personal Conduct Policy. Any league review would be handled independently of the legal proceedings.
Training camp is approaching, and Jackson’s status remains a key storyline as the Rams prepare for the upcoming NFL season.
