Two Teens Taken Into Custody Following Fatal Illinois Family Shooting
Authorities in Illinois have arrested two teenagers in connection with a deadly shooting that claimed the lives of five members of the same family in East St. Louis. The victims were killed in what investigators describe as a targeted attack, while two additional family members survived with injuries.
The suspects, aged 15 and 16, were taken into custody after law enforcement located them at Holten State Park. Officials said the investigation is ongoing, and formal charges had not yet been announced at the time of the latest update.
Shooting Happened at Multiple Locations
According to investigators, the violence unfolded across three different locations in East St. Louis. Police believe the attack specifically targeted one family rather than being a random act of violence.

The victims have been identified as Cherie L. May, Devin D. May, Patricia A. May, Quentin L. Thompson, and Shania W. Thompson. The two surviving family members remain under medical care.
State police are working closely with local prosecutors to determine appropriate charges against the suspects. Investigators continue to gather evidence and interview witnesses to establish the motive behind the attack.
