18-Year-Old Woman’s Death at Boston Rental Property Ruled Homicide

Authorities have confirmed that the death of an 18-year-old woman discovered inside a rental property in Boston has been officially ruled a homicide, as investigators continue working to determine what happened.

The victim, identified as Yoseliani Ann Marte Ocasio, was found with a gunshot wound inside a residence in Boston’s Mattapan neighborhood on July 18. Emergency responders pronounced her dead at the scene after officers entered the property following reports of a shooting.

Property Owned by Conan Harris, Not Primary Residence

The home where the incident occurred is owned by Conan Harris, husband of U.S. Representative Ayanna Pressley. Officials and property records indicate that neither Harris nor Pressley lives at the address.

The multi-family property has been used as a rental home and was reportedly listed for sale at the time of the incident. Authorities have not suggested that the property’s owners were connected to the crime.

Following the tragedy, a spokesperson for Rep. Pressley expressed condolences to the victim’s family while declining to comment further as the investigation remains active.

Police Continue Active Investigation

The Boston Police Department’s Homicide Unit is leading the investigation and is asking anyone with relevant information to come forward.

Family members have publicly claimed that the young woman was a victim of domestic violence, although investigators have not officially confirmed a motive or announced any arrests. Community members recently gathered outside the property to hold a vigil in memory of the victim.

Authorities say the investigation remains ongoing, and additional details may be released as detectives continue gathering evidence.
