Dwyane Wade’s Son Zaire Wade Charged in Domestic Violence Case

Zaire Wade, the 24-year-old son of NBA Hall of Famer Dwyane Wade, has been formally charged with a felony following his arrest last month in connection with an alleged domestic violence incident in Burbank, California.

According to court documents filed by the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office, prosecutors allege that Wade intentionally caused physical injuries to a woman with whom he was reportedly in a romantic relationship. The case now moves into the court process, with an arraignment scheduled for July 16.

Felony Complaint Filed After June Arrest

The latest legal filing comes about three weeks after police responded to a residence in Burbank on June 21 following reports of a woman screaming.

Authorities said officers found a woman with visible cuts and injuries to her face and body. Although emergency responders examined her at the scene, she was not transported to a hospital.

Following the investigation, Wade was arrested on suspicion of domestic violence, criminal threats, and false imprisonment. He was later released the same day after posting $50,000 bond, and an emergency protective order was issued for the alleged victim.

Court Hearing Set for Mid-July

Prosecutors have now moved forward with a felony charge alleging that Wade caused corporal injury resulting in a traumatic condition. The identity of the alleged victim has not been publicly disclosed.

An arraignment is scheduled for July 16 in Pasadena, where Wade is expected to formally respond to the charge. As with all criminal cases, the filing of charges is an allegation, and Wade is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.

Neither Zaire Wade nor representatives for the Wade family have publicly commented on the latest legal development.

Basketball Career

Zaire Wade previously played high school basketball at Sierra Canyon before continuing his career professionally, including time in the NBA G League and with the Cape Town Tigers in the Basketball Africa League. He is the eldest son of former NBA star Dwyane Wade.
