Authorities in Worcester, Massachusetts, have issued an arrest warrant for 58-year-old Karen Solomon, who has been missing for more than four days following the death of Worcester police officer Kurt Solomon at a home they shared.

Karen Solomon, a mental health advocate and author, was last seen early Tuesday morning in footage captured by a doorbell camera. Investigators say she was walking away from the neighborhood shortly after police responded to the residence where Kurt Solomon was found dead.

Arrest Warrant Issued as Search Continues

Worcester Police Chief Paul Saucier said the warrant accuses Karen Solomon of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. Investigators determined that Kurt Solomon suffered fatal injuries caused by a sharp object, although police have not publicly identified the weapon.

The investigation has also expanded beyond the residence. Officials said public areas around Coes Pond would remain closed while police and dive teams continued searching the area, with police dogs also involved in the operation.

Kurt Solomon served with the Worcester Police Department for 31 years. Police Chief Saucier described him as both a dedicated officer and a well-liked person who would be deeply missed by the department and community.

Karen Solomon Remains Missing

Authorities have not announced that Karen Solomon has been located. The last known sighting came from a doorbell camera early Tuesday, when she was seen wearing a T-shirt, shorts and flip-flops.

Karen Solomon has worked extensively in the area of first-responder mental health. She authored two books focusing on the physical and psychological challenges experienced by first responders and helped establish First H.E.L.P., an organization dedicated to supporting their mental health.

Court records indicate that Karen and Kurt Solomon had been married and lived at the same residence. Officials have not provided additional details about their relationship, citing privacy protections associated with domestic violence cases.

Funeral Arrangements for Worcester Officer

The death of Kurt Solomon has prompted an outpouring of support from the Worcester police community. A wake is scheduled for Tuesday, followed by his funeral on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, investigators continue their search and work to determine the circumstances surrounding the officer’s death. The arrest warrant represents a significant development in the case, but Karen Solomon’s whereabouts remain unknown as authorities continue their efforts to locate her.
