Husband Jailed in Fatal Stabbing After Dispute Over Shared Intimate Photos

A man has been sentenced to 10 years in prison after being convicted of manslaughter in the fatal stabbing of his wife’s former partner in a case that stemmed from the alleged distribution of intimate photos.

The incident took place in Burnaby, British Columbia, where authorities said the victim was lured to a meeting before a violent confrontation ended in his death. The court heard that the couple believed the victim had circulated private photos and videos of the woman to members of her family using a fake social media account.

Alleged Revenge Plot Led to Fatal Encounter

According to court findings, the woman initially sought help from law enforcement after discovering that explicit content had been shared without her consent. When those efforts failed to resolve the issue, she arranged to meet her former lover in an attempt to recover the material and persuade him to stop distributing it.

Prosecutors said both the woman and her husband arrived armed with concealed kitchen knives. During the meeting, an argument escalated after the woman threw the victim’s phone from his vehicle. The confrontation quickly turned violent, and the couple repeatedly stabbed the man, inflicting dozens of fatal injuries.

Threatening Message Sent After the Killing

Court documents revealed that following the attack, the husband allegedly sent a photograph of the victim’s body to the victim’s current partner along with a threatening message. The couple later returned to the crime scene and surrendered to police.

The husband was originally charged with murder but was ultimately convicted of the lesser offence of manslaughter. After receiving credit for time already served in custody, he will spend approximately 82 more months behind bars.

Wife Also Pleaded Guilty

The man’s wife has also pleaded guilty to manslaughter in connection with the killing. Her sentencing is scheduled separately.

The case has drawn attention to the serious legal and personal consequences of taking revenge into one’s own hands, particularly in situations involving the non-consensual sharing of intimate images. Authorities continue to stress that victims should seek legal remedies rather than resort to violence.
