Arizona Husband Faces Attempted Murder Charge
A 32-year-old man from Mesa, Arizona, has been arrested after authorities accused him of repeatedly stabbing his wife during a violent domestic incident. Investigators allege the suspect attacked the woman 24 times inside their apartment, leaving her with multiple serious injuries.
Emergency responders arrived at the residence after receiving reports of a stabbing. The victim was found suffering from numerous wounds to her head, neck, face, back, and hands. She was rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors reported that her injuries were serious but not considered life-threatening.
Police Say Suspect Claimed He “Snapped”
According to court documents, the suspect allegedly admitted to investigators that he attacked his wife because he wanted her to “stop talking.” Police said he told detectives he had “snapped” during the argument.
Authorities also claim the man admitted to previously assaulting his wife, including an earlier incident in which he allegedly choked her during another dispute. Investigators say he expressed regret about their 14-year marriage and made several statements about their relationship during questioning.
Court Proceedings Underway
The suspect has been charged with attempted second-degree murder involving domestic violence and remains in custody on a $500,000 bond. His next court hearing is scheduled for later this week.
Police described the case as an isolated domestic violence incident and said there is no ongoing threat to the public while the investigation continues.
